Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) is a group of inherited eye disease. Multiple mutations have been described to cause PRA. PRA has been described in golden retrievers (prcd-PRA and GR_PRA1), what mutation is the cause of this disease in golden retrievers is yet to be discovered. The TTC8 gene has been associated with PRA in golden retrievers.
Caratteristiche cliniche
Night blindness, loss of peripheral vision. Degenerative loss of central vision and lastly complete blindness.
